'Super Seconds' Bordeaux Tasting & Dinner @ London, UK
We are pleased to announce a superb tasting and dinner event to be jointly organised and hosted by Christie’s Wine Department and The Fine Wine Experience. This event will take place in the Christie’s Directors’ Boardroom at Christie’s King Street, St James’s, London SW1Y 6QT, on Wednesday 7th March 2007 at 6.30pm. Dress: jacket and tie.
We have selected eight of the top 2nd Growth left bank Bordeaux for this event – Châteaux Cos d’Estournel, Montrose, Pichon-Lalande, Pichon-Baron, Léoville-Barton, Léoville-Las-Cases, Gruaud-Larose and Rausan-Ségla.
The tasting will comprise the 2000 vintage and the 1989 vintage of these eight estates, followed by some of the most iconic examples of each with a four course dinner to follow:

1990 Château Pichon-Baron
1990 Château Cos d’Estournel
1945 Château Gruaud-Larose
1945 Château Pichon-Lalande
1900 Château Montrose

(Yes, scan through those vintages one more time… you read correctly, 1945, 1900, 1865, the latter being a famous pre-phylloxera vintage)
