Taste Washington Grand Tasting / 6th @ Spokane, WA
The city’s premier wine and food event, now in its sixth year, takes place June 17, 2007, 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm, at the elegant and esteemed Davenport Hotel. Taste Washington Spokane features the latest releases from 100 Washington wineries and culinary treats created by several restaurants in the Spokane region. Successful elements of years past are incorporated to produce a celebration befitting the Washington State’s remarkable and world-class wine industry.
“The sixth annual Taste Washington Spokane will draw from the past five years to create the biggest and best Taste Washington Spokane ever!” according to Chris Stone, Washington Wine Commission Consumer Marketing Director. “If you love great wine and delicious food, this is an event you won’t want to miss.”
Arriving guests receive a Riedel wine glass to have in hand as they wind their way through this impressive regional tasting. Enticing food samples are integrated along the way. Local celebrity chefs will demonstrate their cooking skills; and back by popular demand is the Anthony’s Fresh Seafood Bar and Washington White Out, a tasting bar featuring white wines that pair well with seafood and shellfish. A silent auction featuring Washington wine magnums and the Wheel of Wine adds excitement to the mix.
Auction proceeds benefit Washington State University Viticulture and Enology Program and the School of Hospitality Business Management Program. A portion of event proceeds benefits the Davenport District Arts Board. Tickets go on sale March 1st at several Spokane locations and on the Taste Washington website.
