Taste of the Valley Food & Wine Show @ Salinas, CA
The historic National Steinbeck Center in California’s spectacular Salinas Valley will be the site in mid-September for a unique new Salute to Agriculture event, a national fresh-produce food and wine show. The public is invited to attend the two-day event featuring acclaimed chefs, vintners and the best of California’s fresh produce and wines.
On Thursday, Sept. 13, the event kicks off with the Agricultural Leadership Awards luncheon honoring an outstanding leader in the produce industry. An exclusive VIP dinner that evening will feature nationally recognized chefs and wine experts, who will be part of the food and wine show, preparing new recipes featuring local produce and wine.
Events on Friday, Sept. 14, will include a uniquely targeted bus tour for food editors, writers and other foodies, giving an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Salinas Valley’s innovative growing and processing facilities, as well as the bountiful vegetable fields of the area. The tour will feature insight into the cutting edge innovation that goes into producing the newest varieties of produce and wines in the Salinas Valley’s exceptional Mediterranean climate.
Salute to Agriculture’s grand finale on Friday evening will be the Taste of the Valley Food and Wine Show, a showcase event pairing the bounty of Salinas Valley growers and vintners with new, as well as vintage, menus prepared by award-winning chefs from the area’s leading restaurants.
Taste of the Valley will also present the second annual Earth to Eats series of chef demonstrations ─ a unique culinary experience pairing celebrity chefs with the region’s fresh harvest for new, healthy recipes created especially for the event.
