MKF Research 2007 Executive Wine Summit
THEME: “What Will the Wine Industry Look Like In 10 Years?”
Location: Villagio Inn & Spa, Yountville, California
The 2007 MKF Research Executive Wine Summit is the premier forum for the wine business, bringing together top-level executives to focus on the most critical issues confronting their industry.
REGISTRATION: Interested winery principals and senior executives may request an invitation by visiting the MKF website or emailing Kerry Seastrand or by phone at 707.967.5323. The cost is $950 for the summit and $150 for the gala dinner, which cannot be attended separately. After April 3, 2007 the cost for the Summit rises by $100. Last year was sold out. Capacity is limited.
“This is a volatile time for the wine industry,” said Barbara Insel, Managing Director of MKF Research. “The market, the regulatory environment and consumer behavior have all evolved rapidly. Direct to consumer is emerging as a major profit center. There is consolidation at every level, and the industry faces constant import pressure. The Summit will bring together wine business leaders with deep knowledge of our industry to share perspectives on what this industry will look like in the next decade.”
WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 8:30 am to 5:45 pm; gala dinner at 7:15 pm.
Friday, May 4, 2007 from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
The Villagio Inn & Spa, Yountville, CA.
SUMMIT HIGHLIGHTS: Seminars, workshops and panel discussions throughout the Summit are designed to help the wine community share strategies and form alliances that successfully transform challenges into opportunities.
Opening Panel Discussion: “What Will the U.S. Wine Industry Structure Be In 10 Years?”
Luncheon Speaker: Jon Bonne, the San Francisco Chronicle’s new wine editor.
Gala Dinner Panel: “What I have Learned in the Wine Business.”
The Gala Dinner of the Wine Summit is becoming a special event in the wine community — a quiet convivial conversation among friends. This year we bring together several veterans of the industry to remind us, in these relatively good times for the wine industry, that we have known good times and tough times. The dinner on May 3, will feature:
Phil Woodward, Co-Founder of Chalone Wine Group and Chairman of the Woodward/Graff Wine Foundation.
Dick Maher, former President of Beringer Vineyards, the Seagram Wine Company, Christian Brothers Winery and Heublein Fine Wines; a past Chairman of the Wine Institute and former President of the Napa Valley Vintners.
Tom Selfridge, President of the Hess Collection Winery, as moderator.
Other leading industry figures to be announced.
