The Pittsburgh Wine Festival has announced plans for a spectacular line up of events for the fifth installment of the week-long festival April 22-28, 2007. The Wine Festival, which has been a sold out event every year, is presented by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) and Comcast.

The Wine Festival commences Saturday evening, April 21, 2007 with a magnificent opening dinner at The Carlton Restaurant. During the week there will be informative seminars on wine and food, including the return of Marnie Old, as well as wine dinners in restaurants around town that will pair internationally recognized winemakers with innovative cuisine by local chefs. Private Home Dinners lead up to the signature VIP and Grand Tasting event at Heinz Field.

Welcome to l’Ete du Vin, America’s oldest charity wine auction.
Since our inception in 1980, l’Ete du Vin has attracted individuals from around the world with big hearts and a love of wine to gather each summer in Nashville Tennessee to experience and participate in l’Ete du Vin (“a summer of wine”). To date, thanks to the generosity and support of hundreds of donors, wine and food professionals, sponsors, businesses, volunteers and participants, l’Ete du Vin has raised and contributed over $13 million to our cancer related charitable beneficiaries.

Be entertained by guest chefs giving recipe demonstrations, wine seminars, wine tastings and food & wine related exhibitors along with many one-of-a-kind wine dinners held at various restaurants in the surrounding area.

The Friends of the Malden Public Library, in conjunction with Bob McQueen of M&M Liquors of Malden, will hold their 5th Annual Wine Tasting on Friday, April 27th, from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm at the Malden Public Library, 36 Salem Street, Malden. Sample an incredible array of wines from countries such as Australia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Chile, and the United States in the Wilfred J. Carr Gallery while enjoying hors d'oeuvres from area restaurants and piano music played by Ed Meradith in the Ryder Gallery. Nonalcoholic drinks will also be available. Wine orders will be taken by representatives of M&M Liquors, with 10 percent of all sales that evening donated to the library.

Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door) and are available at the Malden Public Library Information Desk (781-324-0218) and M&M Liquors (781-322-0033). The event is handicapped accessible.

More than 75 of the world’s top pinot noir producers will gather for one spectacular weekend as Pinot Days visits the East Coast. With 3 days of tasting events, this is a terrific opportunity to try wines you have sought but could not find, all while meeting the winery owners and winemakers.

To participate in the Yakima Valley Spring Barrel tasting event, simply purchase a Reserve Ticket, which includes your event wineglass. Tickets are $20.00 per person in advance, $25.00 per person at the door. Tickets are non-refundable.
