Alpana Singh, master sommelier and host of “Check Please” on WTTW Channel 11, is the highlight of the annual Wine Lovers’ Weekend at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa, March 30 to April 1, in Galena, Ill. Singh will speak at the opening night wine tasting and preside over a special “Celebrating the Seasons” wine and food pairing dinner Friday, March 30.
Red, White & Snow is a wine, culinary and ski festival to benefit the National Ability Center. Included in the event are Wine and Culinary Educational Seminars, Vintner Dinners in luxurious private homes, the Ability Ski Challenge and an elegant Gala Dinner & Auction.
Wine Merchant Joseph George is hosting an event at Villa Montalvo involving both wineries pouring a tasting of barrel samples and a sit down dinner.

If you missed your chance to buy tickets to the now SOLD OUT Classic City Brew Fest (Athens, GA), then PLEASE gather your friends and come volunteer to pour beer at the event! Last year we were short of volunteers, so we really need you. It's great fun to pour and to be a part of the festival action (many say it is more fun than attending), and when the festival is over, the volunteers get participate in the fantastic volunteer party with beers and food! There is also a free t-shirt and other goodies in it for you. Volunteers must be at least 21.

Each member attending the Orange County Wine Society Wine Auction (March 11) is eligible to attend and buy wine at this year’s PYOL. Attendance at the PYOL is open only for those members who attend the Wine Auction. What is the PYOL you ask? It stands for “Pick Your Own Lot”. For this event, we put all the wine that did not quite meet the standard to get into the Wine Auction on display, and sell it to you for $4 per bottle. This is a good opportunity to pick up some everyday wine at a very reasonable price.
The price is $20 per member, which includes admission to both events. Due to the increased cost of the facility rental, expendable supplies, food, and sales taxes, it has become necessary to establish this new price.

A major source of funds for the college and a very entertaining part of the festivities is the lively wine themed auction of paintings, trips, collectibles, and rare vintages. Artists, winemakers, and suppliers have donated these fine items in support of education.

Auctioneer Stephen Ranger, of Ritchie’s Auctioneers and Appraisers, returns to lead the live auction, encouraging wine aficionados, fervent collectors and budding oenophiles to either add to their cellars or start a collection with some truly exquisite gems. Relax, savor our wines, stop for some antiquing and perhaps stay in one of the many Bed and Breakfast inns in the area. April is Michigan Wine Month! Celebrate it at the Pioneer Wine Trail's Michigan Wine Celebration. On this self-driven tour, you'll travel along the wine trail on Saturday, April 21 and/or Sunday, April 22.
Each winery along the trail will feature a generous tasting of one of their wines paired with a special appetizer or dessert made with their wine and prepared by a local chef. You'll also receive a small Michigan-related gift at each winery. The wineries included in this event are: Burgdorf Winery, Cherry Creek Cellars (Parma & Cement City), Lone Oak Vineyard Estate, Pentamere Winery, Sandhill Crane Vineyards, St. Julian Winery (Parma & Dundee), and Uncle John's Fruit House Winery.
