FRANCO-ITALIAN WINE & CHEESE PAIRING -- PREMIUM FRENCH FROMAGE & FIRST-RATE ITALIAN WINE MEET THEIR MATCH IN THIS UNRIVALED WINE & CHEESE TASTING
France and Italy often go head to head in competition, whether it be during a game of soccer, a fight for culinary supremacy or the creation of the best designer handbag. This March 2007, Aroma Kitchen & Winebar has decided to unite the two countries, conceiving an eclectic tasting that pairs choice French cheeses with exceptional Italian wines this Wednesday, 28 March 2007 from 7:00PM-8:30PM. Whether enjoying a luscious triple-crème from Normandy or an endearingly complex Montepulciano, each country's culinary heritage shines in the meticulously selected products. Discover pairings so good you would think they were made for each other. Join cheese experts Waldemar & Nadia along with Aroma wine aficionado Vito Polosa for this special tasting in Aroma's cozy (and downright Italian) subterranean tasting room located at 36 East 4th Street (between Lafayette & Bowery). Tickets are $45 per person. Space is limited. For reservations and more information please call (212) 375-0100 or visit "Aroma" Tasting Info & Reservations
Every wine enthusiast relies on good tasting skills, and as usual, practice makes perfect. Join us as we taste and analyze seven wines – three whites and four reds – in our first Tasting Seminar. These upscale wines have been carefully selected to exhibit typical varietal character. Before tasting begins, the flavor profile of each featured variety will be described. The wine identities will be listed, but all will be poured blind in an unknown order. Participants will be encouraged to discuss their sensory impressions before the pouring order is revealed.

Each member attending the Orange County Wine Society Wine Auction (March 11) is eligible to attend and buy wine at this year’s PYOL. Attendance at the PYOL is open only for those members who attend the Wine Auction. What is the PYOL you ask? It stands for “Pick Your Own Lot”. For this event, we put all the wine that did not quite meet the standard to get into the Wine Auction on display, and sell it to you for $4 per bottle. This is a good opportunity to pick up some everyday wine at a very reasonable price.
The price is $20 per member, which includes admission to both events. Due to the increased cost of the facility rental, expendable supplies, food, and sales taxes, it has become necessary to establish this new price.

Come taste the wine and “Take a Sip for Scholarship!”
From a small gathering of wine makers and wine lovers in Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada's warehouse the event has grown in 32 years to become one of the largest single day tastings in the country. Last year, the event included 7,000 guests, 117 suppliers and over 700 wines from 390 wineries and was held in a hotel/casino convention center. This year, we expect at least that many participants to return to UNLVino’s 32nd annual tasting and there will be some surprises. A major source of funds for the college and a very entertaining part of the festivities is the lively wine themed auction of paintings, trips, collectibles, and rare vintages. Artists, winemakers, and suppliers have donated these fine items in support of education.
The 2006 Blue Ridge Wine Festival, was a grand success! Be sure to make reservations for the 2007 Wine Festival well in advance! Check for updates on the 2007 event and more!
