  • The weekend's finale features chefs competing in the Chefs' Challenge, a 60-minute cooking competition that is a true "battle of the sexes," pitting San Francisco chefs Gerald Hirigoyen of Piperade and Laurent Manrique of Aqua against Elizabeth Falkner of Citizen Cake and Melissa Perello from the Fifth Floor restaurant in San Francisco. The two teams race to create a three-course meal based on one secret ingredient, and expert judges determine the winner in front of a live audience in stadium-style seating in the resort's Ballroom. The competition is hosted by Liam Mayclem, host of "Eye on the Bay" on CBS 5 TV. Tickets are $105.12 each.

After the "Chef's Challenge" is the "Grand Tasting," an elaborate wine and food reception offering an array of tastes from renowned Bay Area restaurants, wineries and specialty vendors. The high-energy soundtrack is created by DJ Frenchy le Freak.

The Napa Valley Grapegrowers presents the Napa Valley Viticultural Fair - a one day trade show and educational forum for the winegrape industry.

It is a great meeting place at the end of harvest, where you can rack up PCA credits at the seminars, see your friends and business associates, and find out what the latest products and services are in your field. The 120 booth trade show is an excellent forum for networking between growers and suppliers, and on display are the products and services that the premium winegrape industry depends on. This year, we are excited to unveil “Organic Alley”, a section highlighting companies offering organic products.
