Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival / 16th @ Paso Robles, CA (probdate)
PASO ROBLES ZINFANDEL FESTIVAL MARQUEE EVENT
The 16th annual Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival, will continue the celebration of California's heritage variety and the first variety to bring acclaim to Paso Robles Wine Country. The three-day Zinfandel Festival weekend takes place with a marquee event Saturday, at the Paso Robles Events Center in Paso Robles, California.
THE WEEKEND
The 2008 Paso Robles Zinfandel Festival will include live and silent auctions, as well as a grand tasting of Zinfandel wines from more than 40 wineries in the Paso Robles, California appellation. The Paso Robles American Viticulture Area (AVA) is California’s third largest and fastest growing, encompassing more than 170 wineries and 26,000 vineyard acres on California’s central coast, located midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Zinfandel is considered California’s heritage wine grape and was the first variety to bring acclaim to the Paso Robles region. Each year Paso Robles Wine Country hosts its annual Zinfandel Festival for enthusiasts from around the nation, surrounded by three days of festivities at the wineries
“This is the second largest Zinfandel tasting in the country and so many Paso Robles wine enthusiasts look forward to it each year,” said Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Executive Director Stacie Jacob. “There will be great lifestyle and wine auction lots up for bid and more than 40 wineries will be pouring their Zinfandels—it should be an exciting evening.”
With a limited supply, this event is sure to sell out quickly. In 2007, nearly 1,000 wine enthusiasts from around the country attended the event.
“We expect this event to sell out, as we’re limiting the number of tickets to enhance attendees’ experience during the festival,” said Jacob. “We encourage those interested in coming out for this celebration to buy their tickets early to ensure they have a space at the 16th anniversary Zinfandel Festival.”
Paso Robles Wine Country offers a classic wine country retreat, where winemakers and winery owners can often be found in tasting rooms and around town. Premier hotel, restaurant and bed and breakfast accommodations are available throughout the area, offering world-class food and stays to accompany the handcrafted wines of Paso Robles.
