Looking for something different to do this Valentine's Day? How about sampling award-winning wines paired with exquisite chocolate at romantic wineries throughout the State? To help you celebrate Valentine's Day, New Jersey wineries will be holding a Wine & Chocolate Wine Trail Weekend.

  • Event specifics/URL

The weekend will offer visitors a chance to learn more about wine, wine tasting, and wine making; as well as the opportunity to stock up on award-winning wines. Participating wineries will offer wine cellar tours, lots of chocolate that can be sampled with the wines, live music and more. The event (which is free at all but two wineries) takes place on New Jersey's Wine Trails, which are day trips to several wineries.

Participating wineries include: Alba Vineyard, Village of Finesville, Milford (charges $5/person); Amalthea Cellars, Atco; Amwell Valley Vineyard, Ringoes; Mays Landing; Bellview Winery, Landisville; Cape May Winery, Cape May; Cream Ridge Winery, Cream Ridge; DiMatteo Winery, Hammonton; Four Sisters Winery, Belvidere; Heritage Vineyards of Richwood, Richwood; Hopewell Valley Vineyards, Pennington; Renault Winery, Egg Harbor (charges $3/person); Silver Decoy Winery, Robbinsville; Tomasello Winery, Hammonton; Unionville Vineyards, Ringoes; Valenzano Winery, Shamong; and Westfall Winery, Montague.

New Jersey’s wineries are located in some of the most beautiful areas of the state. In addition to gorgeous scenery, the wineries themselves are lovely as well - many in old stone buildings or converted dairy barns. Add to this acres and acres of grapes planted on sunny hills and, perhaps most important, great award-winning wine tasting, and you have the makings for a great day trip.

To help visitors explore New Jersey wineries, the Garden State Wine Growers Association has put together suggestions for New Jersey Wine Trail day trips for each area of the State. The Trails, which include in-depth information on each winery on the Trail and detail directions (which can be printed out) from one winery to the next, can be found on the Garden State Wine Growers Association's website. Just click on Wine Trails in the left hand menu.
