California Independent Film Festival @ Livermore, CA
The California Independent Film Festival will be held in Livermore Valley Wine Country again this Fall. As the Bay Area's very own Sundance film festival, filmmakers compete to be one of the only 100 independent films shown at this event. Cozy barrel rooms of several Livermore Valley Wineries serve as unique and intimate theaters for the Festival. Four local wineries will host festival events. The 5 day festival includes VIP receptions,
film maker gatherings, special wine tastings, celebrity appearances, film viewings and Q&A's and world premieres. Intense competition results in Festival Awards for best films, screenplays, student films, animations, music videos and documentaries. A "Bay Area Showcase" features the work of local filmmakers.
This year, Ned Beatty will be honored by being awarded the Festival's
"2006 Lifetime Achievement Award".
He will be present for an audience Q&A in conjunction with a viewing of the film Deliverance on Saturday, October 28th, 2006, at the Robert Livermore Community Center.
The Opening Night VIP Reception takes place at the Zephyr Grille and Bar in Downtown Livermore
on Wednesday, October 25th, 2006.
